Ford Motor Credit sues individual for past due balance

Ford Motor Credit Co. has filed suit against an Orleans Parish woman who allegedly owes it more than $25,000.

Ford Motor Credit filed the suit against Kimmie Louis Ferdinand June 14 in Orleans Parish District Court.

According to court documents, the parties entered into a Vehicle Retail Installment Contract May 14, 2007. The contract contains an acceleration clause which states any failure to pay an installment when due will immediately mature the entire contract.

Ford Motor Credit Co. is asking the Court for an award of the $26,627.07 past due balance plus interest at the rate of 5.90 percent per annum from Dec. 2009 until paid, with attorney's fees at the rate of 25 percent of the total principal and interest due along with all court costs.

Baton Rouge attorney E. Wade Shows of Shows & Cali is representing Ford Motor Credit Co.

Judge Michael G. Bagneris is assigned to the case.
