Florida business sues New Orleans company over rental fees

Peck

A Florida business is suing a New Orleans company for more than $80,00 in rental fees.

Thompson Pump and Manufacturing Co. filed the suit against St. Martin Brown and Associates June 11 in Orleans Parish District Court.

Representatives from Thompson, a corporation registered in Florida, say the company contracted with St. Martin in September 2008 for the rental of 10 industrial pumps. The plaintiff claims that, despite requests, St. Martin has failed to pay the $81,841.78 in rental fees and finance charges incurred as a result of the rentals.

Thompson is seeking the past due balance plus interest, attorneys' fees and court costs.

New Orleans attorneys Stewart Peck, Benjamin Kadden and Kathy Rito of Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin & Hubbard are representing Thompson Pump and Manufacturing Co.

Judge Lloyd J. Medley is assigned to the case.
