A Georgia man has filed a lawsuit against a Houma woman after she allegedly rear-ended his vehicle while attempting to enter Louisiana Highway 24.
Alan Hall filed suit against The Phoenix Insurance Co., State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. and Jacqueline Lirette on Oct. 14 in federal court in New Orleans.
The accident occurred on Jan. 19 as Hall was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado along US Highway 90 and about to enter southbound LA Highway 24. Hall states Lirette drove her 2006 Toyota Camry into the rear of his vehicle.
Lirette is accused of negligence in the careless operation of a motor vehicle, failing to operate her vehicle in a lawful and prudent manner, failing to see what she should have seen, following too closely and failing to pay attention to changing traffic conditions in front of her.
Hall is seeking damages for physical injuries, pain, suffering, mental anguish and emotional distress, loss of enjoyment of life, embarrassment, humiliation, disruption of personal relationships, mood changes, frustration, disfigurement, increased susceptibility to future illness and disease, loss of wage and earning capacity, medical expenses, interest, court costs and attorney's fees.
Hall is represented by Baton Rouge attorney J. Price McNamara. A jury trial is requested.
U.S. District Judge Ivan L. R. Lemelle is assigned to the case.
