An electrician is suing his employer Seadrill Americas for more than $5 million after he slipped and injured his neck and back.
Emmett C. Kelly II filed the lawsuit on Nov. 8 in federal court in New Orleans, claiming the injury occurred aboard the deep water drilling semi-submersible vessel West Eminence. Backed-up drains caused the Sept. 15 incident, Kelly claims.
Kelly is represented by Berney L. Strauss and Rhett E. King of Strauss & King in New Orleans. A jury trial is requested.
U.S. District Judge Carl J. Barbier is assigned to the case.
