The Orleans Parish Civil Court will be closed in observance of Mardi Gras.
All city government offices, and the Hale Boggs Federal Complex will also be closed as parades starting at 8 a.m. cross the city.
Zulu, the city's oldest African-American Mardi Gras Krewe will go first followed by Bacchus, Orleans Elks and Crescent City.
Mayor Mitch Landrieu and other city dignitaries will be on hand when King Bacchus toasts them on St. Charles Avenue in the Central Business District.
All city and federal buildings will return to normal business hours the following day, Ash Wednesday.
