A New Orleans man filed a lawsuit in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court against his landlord after falling in the house he was renting.
Plaintiff Jerry Myles claims he fell when he stepped on a loose floor tile and it slid out from under him. The suit states that the loose flooring tiles were well known to the landlord before the incident.
The landlord is accused of failing to maintain the premises, failing to warn tenants of the unsafe condition and other negligence.
Myles' case asserts he sustained injury to mind and body including injuries to the back, head, neck, shoulders, right ankle and other bruises and contusions.
Damages sought include all sums related to the incident including medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering and mental anguish.

The case has been assigned to Section M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
