NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans construction management company is being sued by a construction goods firm.
Keymel Technologies filed suit in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Aaron Bennett, his company Benetech and its insurer.
Keymel claims it was under contract with Bennett to provide construction materials including sand, clay, limestone, concrete and asphalt. The plaintiff claims all obligations of the contract were completed on their part, but they never received payment and that Bennett went further to breach the contract by doing business with another materials provider rather than paying the outstanding amount.
Keymel claims its agent made numerous requests for payment that were denied.
The plaintiff is seeking damages for attorney's fees, increased debt and lost business opportunities and the amount still owed on the contract.
Benetech has been awarded numerous government contracts in recent years, but Bennett has been under investigation lately over claims that he used his company to pay for personal expenses, according to news reports.
Keymel is being represented by Justin A. Reese of New Orleans-based Irpino Law Firm.
The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
