Gas station owner sues Orleans Parish School Board over abandoned bus

DONALDSONVILLE – An Ascension Parish man is suing the Orleans Parish School Board over a bus he claims was abandoned on his property.

Frank Marcello filed suit on Jan. 19 in the 23rd Judicial District against the Orleans Parish School Board.

Marcello alleges that six years ago a school bus owned by the school board was blocking the fuel pumps at his gas station preventing other customers from using them.

The plaintiff asserts he contacted the school board about the bus, but received no response. Marcello claims he had the 2002 Blue Bird model bus moved into storage and repaired by a mechanic before unsuccessfully attempting to negotiate the return of the bus to its owner.

The plaintiff is seeking compensation for storing the bus for six years, wrecker services, repair costs and all legal fees.

Marcello is being represented by Donaldsonville-based attorney Marvin Gros.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Guy Holdridge.
