Woman sues home builder for alleged poor worksmanship

DONALDSONVILLE – An Ascension Parish woman is suing a St. Tammany Parish contractor who built her home after problems began to appear when she moved in.

Kasie Warner filed suit on Dec. 21, 2011 in the 23rd Judicial District Court against Anthony F. Marino.

Warner claims after she moved into her Gonzales home that was built by Marino many structural issues began to appear. The plaintiff alleges damages surfaced in the home in the flooring, cabinets, walls, outdoor concrete, painting, electrical, plumbing and carpentry. Warner asserts the defendant is liable for breach of contract and breach of the builder's warranty.

Warner also claims Marino's approach to building the home was defective in every way and that his work did not meet building standards and codes.

Warner is seeking more than $50,000 in damages under the New Home Warranty Act.

Warner is being represented by Lani B. Durio of Baton Rouge-based Wray and Pierce.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge John L. Peytavin.
