Energy company sued by former landlord over property damage allegations

DONALDSONVILLE – An Ascension Parish property owner is suing a former tenant for property damage.

S&B Engineers filed suit on Jan, 25 in the 23rd Judicial District Court against Stark Power Generation II Holdings.

The plaintiff claims Stark violated its lease agreement by causing significant property damage to the building it was leasing at 35024 Highway 30 in Geismar. The plaintiffs allege that Stark agreed to restore the property to the same condition it was in when they received it.

Damages sought by S&B include compensatory damages, legal interest, the cost of the lawsuit and attorney's fees.

S&B is being represented by Charles C. Garrison of New Iberia-based Caffery, Oubre, Campbell and Garrison.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Ralph Tureau.
