Roofing company sues alleging unpaid bills

DONALDSONVILLE – An Ascension Parish roofing company is suing a contractor and two local residents for allegedly not paying for a new roof.

Garcia Roofing LLC filed suit in the 23rd Judicial District Civil Court against Custom Homes by Jim Fussell, Toai Lam Hau and Nonha Thi Hyunh.

Garcia Roofing claims they provided roofing and flashing materials and labor for contractor Jim Fussell's work on the home of Hau and Hyunh for an agreed upon price of $12,412.

The plaintiff alleges they never paid for the work completed on the home. Garcia Roofing asserts it placed a lien on the home due to the unpaid bills.

Damages are sought in the the amount of the unpaid bill of $12,412 in addition to 18 percent interest on the bill and 25 percent interest for attorney's fees.

The plaintiff is also asking that the property be sold at a sheriff's sale so they can recover their damages.

Garcia Roofing is being represented by Zachary-based attorney Teresea D. Kopp.

Case number 102976 has been assigned to Division E Judge Alvin Turner Jr.
