GRETNA – A Kenner McDonald's is being sued by a woman who claims she was injured in a fall at the establishment.
Bernadette Lehman filed suit on March 14 in 24th Judicial District Court against McDonald's Restaurant of Louisiana. Lehman claims she was walking in front of the ice machine in the McDonald's located in the Wal-Mart on W. Esplanade in Kenner when she slipped and fell on puddle on the floor.
The plaintiff alleges she fell on her knees and right elbow and a blood vessel ruptured in her left hand. The puddle is thought to be the result of an accumulation of ice that melted on the floor, which the plaintiff asserts she did not see.
The defendant is accused of allowing a hazard to exist, having prior notice of the hazard, and improperly maintaining the premises.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses and lost wages.
