NEW ORLEANS – A Maryland woman is suing a national hotel chain for injuries she claims she received at one of their New Orleans locations.
Susan Riss filed suit on March 12 against Dimension Development Company, Hilton New Orleans Saint Charles and their insurer in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.
Riss claims she was staying at the hotel located at 333 Saint Charles Ave. when she got in the night to use the restroom. The plaintiff alleges that when she was returning to bed when her toe unexpectedly got caught on an obstruction and she fell face first into an "improperly" placed table and then to the floor. Riss claims she received injuries to her neck, jaw, teeth, shoulders, back, elbows and others parts of her body.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for permanent injury, residual disability, pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, disfigurement and loss of earnings.
Riss is being represented by Baton rouge-based attorney Nathan Patrick Fry.
The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
