Man who claims he was injured when he stepped into fresh concrete sidewalk sues multiple parties

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans man is suing a large construction firm for injuries he claims occurred on one of their work sites.

Lawrence S. Halloran, III filed suit on March 9 against Boh Brothers, Entergy, Barrire Construction and the City of New Orleans in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

Halloran claims he was walking along a sidewalk where the defendants had recently completed construction on a sidewalk in front of his house. The plaintiff alleges he stepped onto the sidewalk that appeared to be safe to walk on when his foot sank into the wet concrete and he fell. Halloran claims he injured his left ankle, upper back, both wrists, both knees and damaged his teeth.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for the plaintiff's injuries plus legal costs.

Halloran is representing himself.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
