Bridge builder sues construction materials supplier

GRETNA – A Minnesota-based bridge contractor is suing a Pennsylvania-based construction materials supplier for allegedly charging too much for materials.

Johnson Bros. Corporation of Louisiana filed suit against Clearspan Construction Products, LLC in the 24 Judicial District Civil Court on June 13.

Johnson Bros. claims it bought materials from the defendant including polymer coated deck pans and other materials for work on the Caminanda Bay Bridge in Jefferson Parish. The plaintiff alleges the defendant miscalculated its bill and overcharged by $60,139.66 for the construction materials.

The defendant also is accused of other errors.

Damages in the amount of what the plaintiff claims it was overcharged plus attorney's fees is requested.

Johnson Bros. is represented by Lloyd N. Shields of New Orleans-based Shields, Mott and Lund LLP.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner, Jr.

Case number 715-873.
