GRETNA – A New Orleans woman is suing a Jefferson Parish restaurant for injuries she allegedly received on their premises.
Angelique Strother filed suit against Piccadilly Restaurants, LLC and their insurer in the 24 Judicial District Court on June 13.
Strother claims she was approaching the Piccadilly Cafeteria in Jefferson when she tripped while stepping up to the sidewalk and fell on the pavement. The plaintiff alleges she injured her left knee and lower back in the fall.
The defendant is accused of failing to hire competent staff to monitor the walkways, failing to properly maintain the restaurant, failing to exercise reasonable care, failing to keep walkways in a safe condition, failing to report defective conditions and failing to maintain proper care and caution.
Damages not to exceed $75,000 are requested for injuries to the body and mind, medical costs and lost wages.
Strother is represented by attorney Ford T. Hardy of New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen J. Windhorst.
