NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans man is suing multiple parties alleging he was hurt on a job site due to their negligence.
Troy Anderson filed suit against Gibbs Construction, LLC, Handy Manz, LLC, J.E.S., Inc., ACTO Services, the Conerly Corporation and Louisiana Building and Maintenance Company in the Orleans Parish Central DIstrict Court on April 18.
Anderson claims he was working as a subcontractor electrician on the second story of a building when a temporary guardrail failed and he fell 20 feet to the concrete and dirt ground below. The plaintiff alleges the temporary guardrail had been installed and removed repeatedly to bring items into the building. Anderson asserts he lost conciseness after the fall and suffered serious and debilitating injuries.
The defendants are accused of failing to make a workplace reasonably safe, failing to properly supervise employees, allowing use of a rudimentary and unsecured safety mechanism, failing to ensure temporary guardrails were properly installed, failing to exercise reasonable vigilance, failing to warn of hazard, failing to obey parish laws, allowing the constant installation and removal of guardrails and failing to properly train employees.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, lost wages, loss of enjoyment of life, disabilities and permanent physical impairment.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
