Linen service sues restaurant claiming it breached service contract

Michael S. Furtell

GRETNA – A linen service is suing a restaurant it claims it had a service contract through 2015, but later did not fulfill the contract.

Loop Linen filed suit against Maple Street Cafe and Juan Santos in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 15.

Loop Linen claims it signed a contract in October 2010 to provide linen products for Maple Street Cafe through 2015, but that Maple Street canceled that contract in April 2012. The plaintiff alleges it is entitled to liquidated damages in the amount of 80 percent of the remaining contract.

Damages in the amount of $33,324.20 plus interest and attorney's fees are sought for breach of contract.

Loop Linen is represented by Michael S. Furtell of New Orleans-based firm Connick and Connick, LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison, Jr.

Case number 716022.
