Insurer sues contractor over allegedly incorrectly installed ice maker

GRETNA – A home insurer has filed suit against a contractor for allegedly incorrectly installing an ice maker in their refrigerator.

Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. filed suit against Clavier's Plumbing LLC and David Munson in the 24th Judicial District court on June 19.

Fireman's Fund claims the defendants installed the wrong water pump on a refrigerator ice maker in a Metairie home which resulted in water overflowing and causing water damage to the home. The plaintiff alleges they paid $40,019.32 to the homeowner for damages.

The defendant is accused of installing the wrong water pump and failing to properly supervise workers.

Damages in the amount of $45,109.32 plus attorney's fees and legal costs are requested.

The plaintiff is represented by Richard B. Levin of Metairie-based Levin Law Offices.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Hans J. Liljeberg.
