NEW ORLEANS – An Alabama woman is suing a local bar for injuries she claims occurred on their premises.
Tracy Hunter filed suit against Bourbon Cowboy Too in the New Orleans Civil District Court on June 18.
Hunter claims she was a patron at the defendant's place of business and was exiting a mechanical bull stage when she stepped on a gap in the floor between the stage and the stairs and fell. The plaintiff claims she suffered serious injuries including a fractured right leg, soreness in right leg and entire body, post-traumatic pain in the right leg, ankle, foot and anxiety.
The defendant is accused of failing to properly supervise the area, failing to maintain the staging area in proper condition, failing to inspect the area, failing to follow applicable laws and failing to exercise proper degree of care.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, lost wages, pain, inconvenience, embarrassment, mental anguish, deprivation of ordinary pleasures of life, loss of well-being and impairment of her overall health.
Hunter is representing herself in the case.
The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Micahel G. Bagneris.
