Law firm sues Baton Rouge charter school for non-payment of legal fees

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans-based law firm has filed suit against a Baton Rouge charter school for not paying for legal services they claim to have provided.

Lemle & Kelleher LLP filed suit against Pelican Educational Foundation Inc. in the New Orleans Civil District Court on June 18.

Lemle & Kelleher claims they were contracted to provide advice and legal services for the Baton Rouge-based chart school. The plaintiff alleges they were not paid for their services.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract for nonpayment.

Damages in the amount of $44,105.57 plus attorney's fees and interest are requested by the plaintiff.

Lemle & Kelleher is represented by Benjamin R. Slater III of New Orleans-based Lemle & Kelleher LLP.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
