GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman has filed suit against a local restaurant for injuries she claims to have received on its premises.
Bonnie Coleman filed suit against Shoney's American Family Dining Restaurant in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 25.
Coleman claims she was dining at the Shoney's on Barataria Boulevard in Marrero when she slipped and fell on an unknown substance on the floor of the women's restroom. The plaintiff claims she suffered serious injuries in the fall including a fractured pelvis, contusions, and severe trauma to her body as a whole.
The defendant is accused of failing to maintain premises in safe condition, failing to detect unsafe area, failing to properly inspect premises, failing to properly diagnose and correct a dangerous situation, creating a unreasonable risk of harm and failing to warn of danger.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, disability, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses in addition to legal interest, attorney's fees and the cost of proceedings.
