Building materials supplier files suit against state contractors for nonpayment

NEW ORLEANS – A construction material supplier is suing state contractors for nonpayment on their accounts.

D&M Steel, LLC filed suit against The State of Louisiana–Division of Administration, Walton Construction Company, LLC-Southern, FK Fab Group, LLC and their insurers in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on June 27. D&M claims the defendants were contractors and subcontractors on the Village Je Jardin project in Plaquemines Parish.

The defendants are accused of not paying the plaintiff for materials.

Damages in the amount of $177,656.59 are sought for open accounts by the defendants.

D&M is represented by attorney Philip C. Ciaccio, Jr. of Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.

Case no. 2012-06362.
