Walmart sued by woman by woman who claims she slipped in vomit

GRETNA – A Kenner woman is suing a national retailer for injuries she claims to have received on its premises.

Catherine Tauzier filed suit against Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and Wal-Mart Louisiana, LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 1.

Tauzier claims she was shopping at the Kenner Walmart when she stepped in vomit on the floor and slipped and fell. The plaintiff alleges she was injured in the fall.

The defendant is accused of allowing the floor to be left in defective condition, knowing the floor was wet with vomit and was hazardous, failing to remove the hazard, and failing to warn to the plaintiff of the hazard.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for severe physical pain, mental anguish, medical care and treatment, disability, aggravation of prior injuries and wage loss and loss of earning capacity.

Tauzier is representing herself in the case.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.

Case no. 717-705.
