CVS pharmacy accused of giving customer wrong prescription

BATON ROUGE – A Baton Rouge woman is filing suit against a pharmaceutical company after it allegedly gave her the wrong prescription, which she claims resulted in injuries to her stomach and intestines.

Louvilla Young filed suit against CVS Pharmacy in the 19th Judicial Court on Oct. 9.

Young claims she received the wrong medication from CVS Pharmacy located at 1214 Main St. in Baker, La. The plaintiff asserts that on Dec. 9, 2011, she was given someone else's prescription, took it for 10 days and became ill.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical and mental pain and suffering, physical injury, medical bills and loss of enjoyment of life.

The plaintiff is represented by Denise A. Vinet of Baton Rouge-based Vinet & Day.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Janice Clark.
