NEW ORLEANS – A patron claiming to have slipped on the flower aisle of a local grocery store is suing.
Tammy L. Craft filed a lawsuit against Winn Dixie Stores in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Sept. 18. Craft alleges that while walking through the flower aisle she unknowingly stepped in clear liquid on the floor which resulted in her slipping and falling and sustaining injuries to her left leg, knee, ankle and back.
The defendant is accused of allowing or placing clear liquid on its floor, failing to warn patrons and failing to maintain proper clean-up and inspection procedures.
An unspecified amount is sought for all damages including pain and suffering, emotional distress, medical expenses, lost wages, embarrassment, humiliation and disability.
The plaintiff is represented by Mark W. Smith of New Orleans-based Mark W. Smith, APLC.
This case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
