Academy sports sued by man who claims company not paid for a

GRETNA – A man whose company contracted with a sporting stores chain claims he has not received full payment for work he did at numerous stores across the Gulf Coast.

Leon Winsberry and Professional Assembly Technicians filed suit against Academy Sports & Outdoors in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 2. The plaintiff alleges that he assembled displays for the defendant at stores in Gretna and Lafayette, La., in Gulfport, Miss. and Mobile, Ala.

The defendant is accused of failing to honor the contract and failing to return money to plaintiff for work completed.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for non-payment for work completed.

Winsberry is represented by Demetrie E. Ford of Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib.

Case no. 720-762.
