GRETNA – A New Orleans woman is suing the Gretna location of a national home improvement store for injuries she claims to have suffered in a fall on their premises.
Jeanette Armstrong Hall filed suit against the Home Depot and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on Dec. 21.
Armstrong claims she was walking through the store entrance of the Home Depot located at 62 Westbank Expressway in Gretna when she tripped over an area rug and fell to the floor. The plaintiff alleges that she was seriously injured in the fall.
The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the store and keep it clear of harmful debris and unsecured obstacles, failing to properly maintain and upkeep the store, failing to warn of the existence of a wet carpet that allegedly caused the plaintiff’s injury and failing to inspect the store properly and secure warning signs.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain suffered and medical expenses.
Armstrong is representing herself in the case.
