GRETNA – A national discount retailer is being sued by a man who allegedly slipped and fell in standing water.
Terry Scully filed suit against Dollar Tree Stores Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 21. Scully claims he was a patron at the Dollar Tree located at 800 S. Clearview Parkway in Harahan when he slipped and fell in a clear liquid. The plaintiff alleges he was injured in the incident.
The defendant is accused of failing to properly warn of the hazard, failing to timely clean up the hazard, failing to warn customers of the hazard, creating and maintaining a hazard in the area, allowing a hazard to exist and failing to properly train employees regarding the proper procedures of cleaning spills.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, permanent damage, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and economic damages.
