Urway Home Renovations involved in breach of contract suit

Ivan

NEW ORLEANS - A pair of St. Tammany contractors are suing a home renovation company they allege breached the terms of a construction project.

Samuel Martinez and Jeshua Jireh Remodeling & Construction LLC filed a lawsuit against Urway Home Renovations LLC in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Jan. 21.

The plaintiffs claim that after entering into a contract with the defendants as subcontractors on two Palm Street properties in New Orleans and completing the work, they never received payment for the work they performed on the properties.

The defendant is accused of failing to perform the contracts in good faith, continuing to not perform under the terms of the contract and intending to obtain an unfair advantage at the plaintiff’s expense.

Plaintiffs are seeking the sums owed, compensatory damages, non-pecuniary damages and attorney's fees.

Ivan A. Orihuela of Kenner, LA-based Riguer Silva LLC is counsel for the plaintiff.

This case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.

Case no. 2013-689.
