NEW ORLEANS – An electric supply company is suing contractors of a New Orleans YMCA branch renovation claiming breach of contract.
Nu-Lite Electrical Wholesalers filed suit against KH Inc., Ellis Construction and Dryades YMCA in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Jan. 30.
The charges stem from the renovation and reopening of the Dryades YMCA.
Nu-Lite supplied electrical supplies, lighting, gear, panels and other materials for the Natatorium and Wellness Center that are expected to open later this year, the suit claims. KH Electric is a subcontractor of Ellis Construction, the general contractors for the project. The suit claims that Nu-Lite has received no payment and is owed $44,711.64.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract for failing to pay their supplier.
Nu-Lite further claims the defendants are contractually obligated to pay its attorney’s fees and interest.
The plaintiff is represented by F. Victor Hastings of the Kenner-based Hastings Law Firm.
The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
Case No. 2013-00968.
