GRETNA – A construction company is suing a client for breach of contract for allegedly not allowing it to finish a construction project and hiring a third party to complete it instead.
Countrywide Construction LLC filed suit against William Mabry in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 11.
Countrywide Construction claims it was contracted by Mabry for a construction project, but when it was 90 percent finished with it he locked them out of the house and would not allow entry to complete the project. The plaintiff alleges the defendant then declared the contract had been terminated and a third party was hired to finish the job. Countrywide Construction asserts Mabry still owes $16,442.06 out of the $32,318.29 contract.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
