GRETNA – A local doctor is suing his former employer for wages he alleges he should have been paid after he was fired.
Kermit L. Roux Jr. M.D. filed suit against New Image Medical Weight Loss LLC and Ernest Aguilard in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 14.
Roux claims he was working for New Image Medical Weight Loss, but his employment was terminated in September 2012. The plaintiff alleges he is owed $5,800 in unpaid wages from the defendant. Roux asserts, under law, he was to be paid within 15 days of his termination, but never received the wages in dispute.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $5,800 plus attorney’s fees are sought by the plaintiff.
Roux is represented by Kermit L. Roux III of New Orleans-based Deutsch, Kerrigan & Stiles LLP.
The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
