NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans church is suing its insurer claiming it failed to recognize a policy agreement involving Hurricane Isaac.
Apostolic Church of New Orleans filed a lawsuit against Canopius US Insurance Inc. in the Orleans Parish Central District Court.
The plaintiff claims the defendants breached contract by failing to pay for a covered loss after proof of loss was submitted.
The defendant is accused of failing to properly and completely inspect the property for the loss and pay for all the damages covered under the insurance policy and failing to make a good faith tender on covered losses.
The plaintiff is seeking judgment in the church’s favor for an amount deemed reasonable in the premises along with attorney fees and legal costs.
Salvador M. Brocato III of Metairie-based Jim S. Hall & Associates LLC will represent the plaintiff in court.
This case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
