Winn-Dixie named in slip-and-fall suit

Winn dixie

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is suing a grocery store chain claiming she slipped and fell on the premises of one of its local stores.

Laticia D. Wright filed a lawsuit against Winn-Dixie Montgomery LLC, Bo-Lo Holding LLC and Associated Grocers Inc. in the Orleans Parish Central District Court.

Wright alleges that while shopping in the Chef-Menteur Highway Winn-Dixie she slipped a fell due to what appeared to be a liquid substance on the floor of the defendant’s premises causing serious personal injury.

The defendant is accused of negligence, allowing an unsafe condition to remain on its premises, failing to warn patrons of the existence of a hazardous condition and failing to keep the passageways of its establishment in a proper manner.

The plaintiff claims that her damages do not exceed $75,000 and include pain and suffering, inconvenience, humiliation, loss of activity, aggravation of pre-existing medical injuries and loss of wages.

Wright is represented by attorney Ford T. Hardy of New Orleans.

This case has been assigned to Division H Judge Michael G. Bagneris.

Case no. 2013-01497.
