NEW ORLEANS – A Baton Rouge couple has filed motor vehicle product liability lawsuit against General Motors.

Letisha and Raymond Baye filed a lawsuit against General Motors LLC, Mossy Motors LLC, Harvey Ford LLC and Don Bohn GMC in the Orleans Parish Central District Court, claiming the new 2009 GMC Acadia they purchased has required repair no less than six times to its electrical system. They also claim the vehicle required major engine repair and had problems with its axle shaft, headlights, water pump, timing chain, seatbelt, clutch, rear hatch, injectors and other things.

Under the Lemon Law statute the plaintiffs seek to have the manufacturer either replace the vehicle with a new one or refund their down payment, sales tax, trade in value, title and license fees and all payments made towards the financing of the automobile including interest. Plaintiffs are seeking the latter more so along with other damages, attorney fees and court cost.

The plaintiffs are represented by Carolyn B. Hennesy of New Orleans-based Hennesy Law LLC.

This case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.

Case no. 2013-02331.
