Daiquiri shop sued after slip and fall

Charlie

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish resident is suing a daiquiri shop and its insurance company for injuries she allegedly received after she slipped and fell.

Terrysine Sims filed suit against Club Daiquiris Inc. and their insurer in the Orleans District Court on May 21.

Sims claims she slipped and fell in a large puddle in one of the establishment’s passageways. She claims she injured her leg, neck, shoulders, head, back and left arm.

The plaintiff accuses Club Daiquiris of keeping its passageways in unsafe conditions, causing her to undergo treatment with a physician and physical therapist.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses and lost wages.

The plaintiff is represented by Charles M. Thomas of the New Orleans-based Huber, Slack, Houghtaling, Pandit & Thomas LLP.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.

Case no. 2013-04802.
