GRETNA – A man who bought a truck from a local used car dealer is suing after its engine allegedly failed nine days after he purchased the vehicle.

Brian Winkler filed suit against Deal ‘N Dougs Price-less Motors Inc. and Deal ‘N Doug’s Autoplex in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 31.

Winkler asserts that he bought a Ford F-250 pickup from Deal ‘N Doug’s Autoplex located at 6900 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie. The plaintiff alleges that nine days after he purchased the truck its engine failed as he was driving it and the vehicle failed to function any longer. Winkler asserts that Deal ‘N Dougs knowingly sold him a defective vehicle.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract, being in violation of state law and knowing the vehicle was defective.

Damages in the amount of $1,704 are sought plus attorney’s fees and legal costs.

Winkler is represented by Val Patrick Exnicios of New Orleans-based Liska, Exnicios & Nungesser.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robert A. Pitre Jr.

Case no. 732-505.
