GRETNA – A local clothing store is being sued by a woman who claims pieces of glass fell into her eye after an employee broke a light bulb hanging from the store’s ceiling.

Ann Maxie filed suit against Rainbow USA Inc. and Starr Indemnity & Liability Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 7.

Maxie alleges that on Nov. 17, 2012 she was a customer at the Rainbow located at 17 Westbank Expressway in Gretna when an employee was reaching for a piece of clothing with a pole designed to reach inventory hanging near the ceiling. Maxie is represented by attorney Jeffrey N. Rabb of Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
