GRETNA – The alleged victim of a savage attack is suing the man he claims kicked down his door and beat him with a metal pipe.

Bronson LaFleur filed suit against Michael Evans Jr. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Dec. 9.

LaFleur alleges that he was in the living room at his home at 617 Avenue F in Westwego with Erica Ruiz, who was living with him at the time, when Evans kicked down his door.

The plaintiff asserts the defendant, after invading his home, repeatedly struck him in the head and body with a metal pipe before turning to Ruiz and screaming that he was going to kill her, according to the suit.

LaFleur claims as Evans was confronting Ruiz, he retrieved a baseball bat from another part of the residence and struck Evans with it, which allowed Ruiz time to escape the residence and flee from the scene in her vehicle.

The plaintiff alleges that Evans tried to follow Ruiz, but in trying to pull out of the driveway struck both LaFleur’s home and his vehicle, the suit says.

The defendant is accused of inflicting personal injury and property damage.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of wages, loss of wage earning capacity, loss of society and personal property damage.

LaFleur is represented by attorney Shannon R. Bourgeois of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.

Case no. 733-682.
