Homeowner sued for alleged non-payment on home elevation contract

Breach of contract

GRETNA – A local homeowner is being sued by a home elevation company for allegedly failing to fully pay for services.

Aldrette & Son’s Shoring Company Inc. filed suit against Lisa Runnels in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 21.

Aldrette & Son’s Shoring Company Inc. alleges it entered into a contract with Runnels on Aug. 21, 2012 to elevate her home located at 2513 Minnesota Ave. in Metairie. The plaintiff asserts it executed two promissory notes with the defendant in the amounts of $14,250 and $30,000. Aldrette & Son’s Shoring Company Inc. claims Runnels stopped the work on the project on Feb. 23, 2013 and would not let them enter the work site and has since not paid back any part of the promissory notes.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages n the amount og $44,250 are sought by the plaintiff.

Aldrette & Son’s Shoring Company Inc. is represented by attorney David S. Fos of Kenner.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
