Alleged domestic abuse victim sues attacker over injuries

GRETNA – An alleged victim of domestic violence is suing her the man she claims attacked her.

Lindsey Nicole Schulkens filed suit against Paul Plaeger in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 28.

Schulkens alleges that she was dating Plaeger when he allegedly attacked her on either the night of March 1 and/or in the early morning hours of March 2 at his home in Metairie for which she claims he was arrested and charged with domestic battery. The plaintiff asserts that she was severely injured in the incident.

The defendant is accused of infliction of bodily harm.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for mental anguish, emotional anguish, lost wages, medical expenses and punitive damages.

Schulkens is represented by attorney Cindy H. Williams of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.

Case no. 737-835.
