Parking lot operator sued by woman allegedly injured in a fall in hole

Ls

GRETNA – A New Orleans woman is suing a local parking lot operator for injuries she allegedly received in a fall.

Inez Barnes filed suit against Travelers Property Casualty Company of America, Ennis Inc. and USPARK.net in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 29.

Barnes alleges that she parked at the USPARK.net parking garage located at 1025 Airline Blvd. in Kenner when she was exiting a shuttle bus and tripped on a hole in the concrete parking lot and fell forward on her hands and knees. The plaintiff asserts she received numerous injuries in the incident including injuries to her cervical spine, knees, hands and shoulders.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain and inspect the parking lot, failing to repair the parking lot, failing to warn patrons of the defect, failing to do what should have been done and failing to correct an unreasonably dangerous situation.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life, mental suffering, disability and disfigurement.

Barnes is represented by Reid S. Uzee of Metairie-based Gennusa, Piacun & Ruli.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.

Case no. 737-917.
