Large camp hill sidewalks

GRETNA – A woman who claims she was injured in a trip and fall on a section of broken sidewalk is suing the parish where the incident allegedly occurred as well as the homeowner whose home the sidewalk was located in front of.

Earlene Bryant filed suit against Melanie Bardfield, Allstate Insurance Company and the Parish of Jefferson in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 29.

Bryant claims she was walking on the sidewalk in front of 3129 40th St. in Metairie when suddenly and without warning she tripped on a broken section of sidewalk and fell. The plaintiff alleges she received severe and traumatic injuries in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the premises, creating and failing to mitigate a dangerous condition, failing to properly inspect the premises and failing to warn of a hazard.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses and pain and suffering.

Bryant is represented by attorney Thomas E. Campbell of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Ross P. LaDart.

Case no. 737-909.
