NEW ORLEANS – A marine transportation company is being sued by a former employee who was allegedly severely injured while working aboard a vessel.
Martin Wimberly filed suit against Harvey Gulf International Marine LLC in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Wimberly alleges he was an employee of Harvey Gulf International Marine working aboard the M/V Harvey Saint when he was injured during the course of his employment. The plaintiff asserts he suffered severe injuries to his back, neck and other parts of his body.
The defendant is accused of carelessness, recklessness, failing to carry out work in a safe and proper manner, failing to keep the vessel in a seaworthy condition, failing to take precautions for the safety of the plaintiff and failing to provide a safe place to work.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for loss of income, medical expenses, disabling injuries and lost wages.

The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Ivan L.R. Lemelle.
