Dry cleaner sued by customer over alleged physical attack

Drycleaning11

GRETNA – A customer is suing a local dry cleaner who he claims physically attacked him after they had a disagreement.

Seong Nam Yon filed suit against Jae Hyee Cho in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 17.

Yon alleges that on Oct. 22, 2013 he went to New Cleaners owned by Cho and located at 3251 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey where he had left some clothes to be cleaned. The plaintiff contends that after a disagreement the defendant shoved him out of the building, pushed him in the chest and slammed a car door on his fingers. Yon asserts that he had to seek medical treatment for injuries to his chest, back and fingers from the attack at West Jefferson Medical Center.

Yon claims that Cho was arrested by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and charged with simple battery after the attack.

The defendant is accused of assault.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for mental anguish, anxiety, physical pain and suffering, medical costs and inconvenience.

Yon is represented by attorney Thomas E. Dunn of Houma.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.

Case no. 743-516.
