Davita Dialysis sued, accused of negligence after man's alleged slip-and-fall

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans man is suing a Louisiana dialysis company for negligence after he allegedly slipped and fell in a puddle of water at the corporation's facility in the Freret neighborhood.

Louis Williams filed suit against Davita Dialysis Contracting in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Aug. 22.

Williams claims that he was at Davita Dialysis' location at 4427 South Robertson St. in New Orleans on June 23, 2014 when he slipped and fell in water on the floor. The plaintiff asserts that this was an unreasonably dangerous condition, and reports that the incident caused injuries to his left knee.

The defendant is accused of negligence, including failing to properly repair equipment and failing to properly maintain, clean and inspect the premises.

The plaintiff is seeking over $50,000 in damages for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of enjoyment of life.

Louis Williams is represented by attorney A.J. Rebennack.

The case has been assigned to District M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
