GRETNA – A car owner is suing a company and another woman for allegedly wrongfully taking her car and not returning it to her.

Yvette Fremont filed suit against Maher Gindy and Union Transit Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 18.

Fremont contends that for insurance purposes she registered her car in the name of Union Transit Inc. and that they and Gindy wrongfully sold her car or disposed of it in some other way when it was in their care.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for loss of vehicle, loss of personal property, loss of business property, loss of income, expense to replace vehicle, mental anguish and attorney’s fees.

Fremont is represented by attorney Joseph R. McMahon III of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
