Man sues meat packing company for lost semi trailer

NEW ORLEANS –  A Jefferson Parish man is suing a local meat packing company after it allegedly lost an 18-wheeler trailer that he had stored on the property

Keith Couvillion filed suit against Nicholas Chisesi and Chisesi Brothers Meat Packing Company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Dec. 15, 2014.

He claims that his trailer was towed to the defendants' property with permission for storage and that he periodically checked on the trailer. In October 2014, after requesting that the trailer be moved to the Westbank, he eventually found out that the trailer was gone and the company owners were unaware of its location.

The plaintiff asserts the defendants' negligence in failing to keep track of the trailer and its contents, leading to its loss.

The plaintiff seeks damages for the value of the trailer and the equipment stored on it.

Mr. Couvillion is represented by Metairie-based attorney Eugene P. Redmann.

This case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.

Case no. 2014-11831.
