NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Music Hall of Fame (NOMHF ) has allegedly failed to pay a construction and architectural design company resulting in a lawsuit seeking hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Perez, a professional corporation filed suit against NOMHF in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Jan. 8.

A 2007 contract allegedly stipulated that Perez was to receive a lump sum worth approximately $471,833 for completed work. The agreement also allegedly stated for each finished task Perez was to be paid periodically.

“The Contract provides that progress payments shall be made as each phase of the contract is completed,” the lawsuit states.

Perez claims it has completed the agreed upon contract, and fulfilled the exact design plans according to NOMHF’s specifications.

It claims that NOMHF has failed to pay the remaining balance of $319,563.35 within a 30-day time frame of the plaintiff’s written request.

The petitioner is represented by Yvette D’Aunoy and Rebecca S. Miller of the Middleberg Riddle Group.

The case has been assigned to Div. E Judge Clare Jupiter.

Case no. 2015-00166.
